NATASHA CHRISTIA

Natasha Christia is a non-affiliated curator, writer and educator based in Barcelona. She is also a collection consultant and a dealer specialized in fine art photography and photobooks. Christia has curated a series of contents that employ the photobook as a means to critically address the history of photography and to imaginatively reinvent diverse contexts, narratives, and issues related with the dissemination of content through images and the interplay of printed and installation formats. Back in 2015 she was the guest-editor of the Read or die Publishing Fair in Barcelona which culminated in a program and a publication exploring the topic “The Book: on Endless Possibilities” 

RICHARD REISEN

Richard Reisen is a Bookdesigner, Lithographer and Publishing Agent based in Dusseldorf, Germany. He worked about 35 years for the Advertising- and Publishing Industry. Until 2016 responsible for the photobook programme at  Verlag Kettler he is now cooperating with Uitgeverei Lecturis, The Netherlands as with HGEsch Photography, Germany.

YUSUF SEVİNÇLİ

Yusuf Sevincli is a photographer based in Istanbul. His works exhibited in Turkey and Europe in solo exhibitions including Galerist, Istanbul, Filles du Calvaire, Pairs, LeBotanique, Brussels, Bienalle in Moscow, Arter, Istanbul.  His published books are; Good Dog (Filigranes Editions, 2012), Marseille (le bec en l’air, 2014), Walking (Filigranes Editions, 2015), PUT (Fail Books, 2017), Oculus (Galerist, 2017), Touch Dissolves, IIKI Books, 2018. 

BAŞAK ŞENOVA

Basak Senova is a curator and designer. She studied Literature and Graphic Design (MFA in Graphic Design and Ph.D. in Art, Design and Architecture at Bilkent University) and attended the 7th Curatorial Training Programme of Stichting De Appel, Amsterdam. As an assistant professor, she lectured in various universities in Turkey and in 2017 she was the resident fellow at the University of the Arts, Helsinki in co-operation with HIAP and Associate Professorship by the Higher Education Council of Turkey. She is currently resident of the ARA programme, and in 2020 will become visiting professor at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna.

 

Senova is one of the founding members of NOMAD, as well as the organizer of ctrl_alt_del sound art project and Upgrade!Istanbul. She is one of the editorial correspondents of ibraaz.org  and Turkish correspondent of Flash Art International. She acted as an advisory board member of the Turkish Pavilion in Venice Biennial and also the Istanbul Biennial. Senova is a member of the editorial board of PASS, International Biennial Association’s (IBA) journal.

 

Senova curated the Turkey and Republic of Macedonia pavilions at the Venice Biennale in 2009 and 2015 and 2nd and 5th Biennial of Contemporary Art, D-0 ARK Underground (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in 2013 and 2019. In 2014, she acted as the Art Gallery Chair of (ACM) SIGGRAPH 2014 (Vancouver) the curator of the Helsinki Photography Biennial 2014 and the Jerusalem Show VII: Fractures. She also curated Lines of Passage (in medias res) Exhibition in Lesvos (2016) and the inaugural exhibition of B7L9, Climbing through the Tide in Tunis (2019). Since 2017, she has been working on a research-based art project CrossSections in Vienna, Helsinki, and Stockholm.

UFUK ŞAHİN

Ufuk Şahin studied photography at Hofstra University, NY. Since 2007, he has been part of the core team at MAS as the second-generation manager and partner. In 2010, he founded MASA, a publishing house specializing in facsimiles, photobooks and art-books; which has since published more than 30 books. He is a jury member in Kassel Photobook Festival Dummy Competition. He is also a photography enthusiast and an avid photobook collector.
